Hedgerows are often encountered on development sites and may be protected by the Hedgerow Regulations 1997 which sets out an evaluation criteria. Hedgerows are ecologically important for food and shelter for a wide range of species and provide connecting habitat corridors within the landscape which might otherwise become fragmented with sites becoming increasingly isolated. In support of planning applications Greenwillows Associates has the knowledge and experience to assess hedgerows for their ecological status as defined within the Hedgerow Regulations 1997.
